After being pushed to the limit by DTS in the Grand Finals, Virtus.Pro was able to hold off the Ukranian team and secure themselves $5,000 in prize money.
Virtus.Pro had advanced to the Grand Final after beating DTS and k23 in the Upper Bracket. DTS, after being sent to the Lower Bracket, managed to defeat both forZe and k23 to secure themselves a spot in the finals as well.
Needing to win two maps, DTS started strong on de_nuke, finishing their CT side with a 12-3 advantage. The Russians, however, were up for the challenge and were able to storm back to make a close game of it until DTS finally secured the few rounds needed for a 16-13 victory.
Thankfully for Virtus.Pro, they had another map to redeem themselves. On de_inferno, the match came down to the last round as the Russians were able to take over the B bombsite and finish off DTS 16-14.
With the victory, Virtus.Pro earned $5,000 and the title of Arbalet Cup #3 Champions.
DTS.Chatrix claimed the title at ASUS Spring 2009 by defeating Virtus.pro 2:1 in Grand Final.
It seemed that certain things just couldn`t click for K23 in Semi-Final who just claimed the title at Arbalet Cup 2009. The team from Kazakhstan was sent to Consolation Final after a 0:2 defeat to DTS.chatrix.
The other Semi-Final between KerchNET and Virtus.pro also ended with 2:0 as the Ukrainians could hardly make a serious impact against the home team, being beaten 16:07 on de_nuke and 16:11 on de_train and sent to Consolation Final to challenge K23.
K23 showed the world that their outstanding performance did not come to a standstill although they lost the first map 16:02 in Consolation Final. The five Kazakstans made a great comeback to secure the third place at ASUS Spring 2009, with defeating KerchNET 16:14 on de_nuke and 16:11 on de_train respectively.
DTS.Chatrix, who placed 4th at Arbalet Cup 2009, defeated Virtus.Pro 16:08 on the first map, de_inferno. The second match on de_dust2 went into overtime, ending up with 19:16 in the Russians` favor. The deciding map turned out to be de_train which Virtus.Pro could not stand up against their strong opponents, finally losing the map 16:06 to the Ukrainians.
